Girls' Trip to San Antonio

Ann and I met up with our twin cousins, Erin and Audri, with our mom in San Antonio for a sun-loving, bicycle-riding, wine-drinking good time!

We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Hill Country in San Antonio.

Ann, Mom and I headed out on Sunday and arrived at the hotel around 12:30 p.m. (making great time thanks to Ann's expert driving!) Mom and I secured our room and handled the luggage while Ann parked the car.

To our surprise, mom and I were given a room with a balcony!

We had lunch in the cafe and then decided to go exploring and check out the resort while we waited for the twins to arrive.

The squirrels were so big and tame!

The adult pool where we spent alot of our time!

When Erin and Audri arrived, we all had a reunion in Ann's room -- we were having so much fun seeing each other, I forgot to take any pictures!

The resort had a swing where Ann and the twins wanted to take a picture to re-create an old childhood photo they had taken on a tire swing.

I think they got pretty close!

Then we all changed into our swimsuits and headed over to the pool.

Let the vacation begin!

Ann and Erin split the biggest bowl of nachos I've ever seen!

Then the cousins went over to the fire pit for smores.  They didn't eat them but had fun making them!

Mom and I stayed at the adult pool and had it nearly to ourselves.

We ended the night by getting takeout and drinking wine and talking at this great little quiet spot Ann had found at the resort.  It was the perfect ending to a great day!

The next day, everyone got their coffee and breakfast and came over to our room where we spent the morning talking and laughing on the balcony -- mostly laughing!

Then it was time to head out and take advantage of the resort activities.  First up on the agenda was bike riding. Ann and the twins were pros!

But mom showed she could handle her bike like a pro too!

I decided the resort was a safer place without me on a bike so I parked myself at the adult pool instead.

The Skinny Coconut Mojito was the perfect pool drink!

Mom joined me after her bike ride and we toasted to our vacation!

The twins, mom and Ann floated the lazy river...

...and took a few trips down the water slide!

Mom showed everyone how it's done!

Around 2:00, Erin and Audri had to leave us to make their way back home.  We hated to see them go and they hated to say goodbye.  But it wasn't goodbye -- it was just "Until next year!"

After the twins left, mom, Ann and I took some pictures.

Then it was off to the Great Cornhole Battle of 2021 between Ann and mom.  I was the photographer for this momentous event.

Ann got off to a slow start but came back strong!

Video or it didn't happen!

Ann and I had dinner at the bar and then we all ended the night with a sunset float down the lazy river before calling it a day.

After coffee on the balcony the next morning and a quick bike ride, it was time to leave -- womp, womp.  But before heading back to Dallas, we had lunch on the Riverwalk.

Ann gave me the challenge of finding a nice restaurant with a view so I chose a new restaurant called Domingo.  It was another lovely day and we all enjoyed our lunch.

I had the baja fish tacos.  And a passionfruit margarita since I wasn't driving!

We walked off our lunch on the Riverwalk before the drive home.

Until next time, San Antonio!

We had so much fun on this trip, making memories none of us will forget!  We can't wait to do it all again next year!

But until then remember....
