Ben and I went to Las Vegas with our friends Nick and Kate for the first time since 2020. We were wondering if we would still enjoy it as much as we used to and the answer is YES!
Here we go!
I got some shots of the Grand Canyon flying in. Ben and I will be there in April!
We stayed downtown at a new hotel, Circa.
We asked for a quiet mountainside room away from the pool.
Night view from our room |
The hotel has a huge pool area called Stadium Swim. We went down to check it out but it's not our scene. We like a quiet pool where we can actually relax!
Our first night, we went to one of our favorite places, the Golden Tiki, for some flaming tiki drinks!
The next morning, we ate at Hash Hash a Go Go, a restaurant known for their huge portions!
We spent the day playing video poker in some of the downtown casinos. That night, we got all dressed up for a fancy steak dinner at a restaurant in our hotel to officially celebrate my retirement.
Cheers!
After dinner, we went to this new fancy lounge in our hotel, the Legacy Club. It was ok, but nothing special and we all agreed there are places we like better.
The next day was our day to see some of the Las Vegas strip. We started the day by seeing Resorts World which is a huge new casino with a whole food court of street food we wanted to try.
Sadly, most of the restaurants were not open for lunch, so Ben and I just got a chicken sandwich from a place owned by a famous Food Network chef..
Next we went to a 1920's speakeasy in Mandalay Bay that we had wanted to try for a long time.
The drinks were good and it was a nice quiet place where we could all sip our drinks and have a conversation.
Then it was off to play video poker at the Luxor High Limit Room. We played for hours here and had a blast, leaving with a $150 win!
Big money! |
We celebrated with our favorite pizza at the Cosmopolitan Hotel.
We went to a bar at the Cosmo called the Ski Lodge, complete with fake snow and S'mores!
A huge dust storm blew in on our way to the Bellagio to see the Conservatory and it got really cold.
The theme was Chinese New Year, same as our trip in 2020.
Our last full day we spent in the Arts District. We started off the day at the cutest coffee shop downtown called the Parlour.
Everything here was really good. My chai tea was so good, I made Ben come back the next day so I could have another one!
Then we walked around the Arts District and downtown, stopping in a few places here and there.
Before we knew it, our trip was over! Goodbye Vegas!
Or so we thought -- we ended up having to come back to Vegas because of a problem with the plane. We even had to get towed to the gate when we landed.
This is a sight I never want to see--our plane back in Vegas! |
We ended up taking a 10pm flight which got us home around 3am. But we made it home safely from another fun trip. Until next time, Vegas!
Ben and I will be going to Fort Lauderdale in March to see Ben's brother. We're looking forward to some fun in the sun!
