Ben and I were married November 7, 2009. On November 9, we were off for our honeymoon in Maui!
We had a car service pick us up since we would be coming home at 5:00 a.m. when we returned and we didn't want to have to drive home after a long flight. Plus it was fun to start our trip off in style!
Ben chose the Ritz Carlton in Kapalua for our stay since it was a more remote and quieter part of Maui which he thought would be perfect for a honeymoon. Once we visited the busier part of Maui, Kaanapali, I saw that he was right. Kapalua was perfect!
After a long 8-hour flight we finally arrived and picked up a our rental car.
We had a gift of champagne and strawberries waiting for us. Ben and I registered on a honeymoon website for our wedding since we both owned a home and didn't need things like towels and dishes. All the gifts we received really made our honeymoon that much more special!
We were lucky to find a great sale when we booked our honeymoon which allowed us to upgrade our room to a garden-view Junior Suite. It was more than we really needed but so luxurious!
We had a nice view from the lanai which had nice comfortable furniture. Since this was our first trip to Maui, we didn't spend much time out there, but we did have a room service breakfast out on the lanai on our third day which was really nice.
We took some pictures of the grounds our first full day. Ben took this picture that looks just like a postcard!
The closest beach was about a 5-minute walk away. This was the path to the beach.
Day one for us ended early after dinner at the Terrace House restaurant. We were excited to begin discovering Maui the next day!
