Lake Tawakoni

In June, mom was blessed with almost six weeks of vacation and booked a night at a cabin on Lake Tawakoni.  She asked if I would like to join her so the two of us made the easy hour drive out to Lake Tawakoni State Park.

We paid our $10 and found the perfect spot for relaxing until we could check into the cabin.

At 3:00 pm, we drove the short distance to the great cabin Mom found, the Sweetwater Cabin.

You can't get much closer to the lake than this!

We got settled and then took a walk to check out the property and the beautiful lake.

We found a place where we could dip our toes in the water.  The cool water felt refreshing!

Back at the cabin, we spent the rest of the day eating, talking and -- most importantly -- relaxing!  It was so quiet and peaceful and we really felt like summer vacation was officially here!

As the sun was setting, we went out to the back patio for some chillaxing!

The full moon was so beautiful -- I had to try and capture it!

More of the beautiful sunset.

After a peaceful night's sleep, we spent all of the next morning on the breezy patio, hating the moment we would have to pack up and leave!

While we were at the lake, Ann was enjoying her first day on the beach in the Dominican Republic!

We had a great time on our little mother-daughter getaway.

Mom, you picked the perfect cabin!

Mom, Ann and I will all be together in just a few weeks at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort in San Antonio.  Looking forward to the next girls' getaway!
