Girls' Birthday Trip to Broken Bow

For my mom's 75th birthday, Ann and I gifted her a birthday trip to Broken Bow.  This was a milestone birthday so Ann and I wanted to make sure it was really special!

Road Trip!

Last year, Ann sent me a link to a spa cabin in Broken Bow for a future girls' trip.  I thought it would be perfect for mom's Sassy 75!

We're here!

Mom was thrilled with her luxury suite!

The wonderful porch where we spent lots of time!

We unpacked and got settled and soon Mel arrived and the party got started!

The birthday girl!

New house shoes from Melodie!

Since both Ann and I also have April birthdays, Mel brought our presents too.  What could it be?

A beautiful Coach purse!  I LOVE it!!

Ann and I got mom some birthday swag and a wine tumbler for the hot tub -- she was all set!

We all went out to dinner to celebrate mom's birthday and then Ann, mom and I went to a cocktail bar to toast the birthday girl.  The whole bar sang Happy Birthday to mom when we walked in!

Back at the cabin, we were all treated to a beautiful sunset!

After that, it was hot tub time!  The birthday girl was ready!

We relaxed in the hot tub and then went to bed.  Mom's official birthday was over but we still had lots of fun ahead!

The next morning started with my favorite Broken Bow ritual, coffee on the porch.  The porch was perfect for our "coffee talks."

After coffee, mom, Ann and I spent some time in the steam room and discussed what we wanted to do with the rest of our day.  Ann had the great idea to do brunch today instead of on Easter Sunday -- because this way we could have our bottle of champagne with brunch.  We all agreed champagne brunch sounded perfect!

Cheers to another year!

We all wanted to take a walk after brunch so we decided to do the 1 mile out and back walk on the Friends Trail to see if we could make it to the waterfall.

We made it to the Mountain Fork river.

The waterfall was just a bit further so we pushed on.

Ann and I hiked down to take pictures by the waterfall.

We were all pooped after the walk, so we headed back to the cabin for Grateful Head pizza!

I went upstairs to get a jacket and saw the sunlight streaming through the window so I told everyone to come upstairs to watch the sunset from the balcony off our bedroom.

Then it was hot tub party part two!

We had a blast and mom and I finally drug ourselves out of the tub around midnight!

The next morning, we had coffee on the porch again.  It was so peaceful.  We talked and enjoyed our last morning in Broken Bow.

And then, sadly, it was time to start packing up to leave.  We had breakfast, said goodbye to Melodie, and loaded up the car to head home. We hated leaving our beautiful cabin in the woods!

We had a wonderful time in Broken Bow honoring mom, celebrating birthdays, and just being together.  Mom, I hope you had the best 75th birthday ever!  Until next year!
