2016 Cruise: Pre-cruise trip to Galveston

On February 21, Nick, Ben and I set off for our second Caribbean adventure on a Royal Caribbean Cruise! We planned to go down to Galveston a day early and spend the afternoon there and then spend the night so we'd already be there on Sunday for our cruise.  Luckily, this year it was 75 and sunny instead of freezing cold and raining like last year!

We left Dallas Saturday morning for Galveston and headed straight to a place called the Spot for lunch. We had tried to eat here last year but it was a madhouse since last year we came during spring break.

When your drink comes in a coconut, you know you're on vacation!

We took some pictures of the pleasure pier and the beach.

We then drove over to the part of Galveston known as the Strand. It's closer to the pier and has all these little shops and nice hotels--unfortunately, they all have a 2-night minimum on the weekends so we opted to stay the night at the Comfort Inn in Texas City like we did last year.

Fun times in Galveston!

We ended our day with drinks at the Tremont House before heading to the Comfort Inn for the night. I laid my sail away outfit out for the next morning.

The next morning, the cruise we had planned 8 months ago would be here!
