Journey to Alaska Day 2: Seattle

It was a beautiful, sunny, 73-degree day in Seattle!  We got so lucky with the weather!

We all met in the hotel lobby at 9:00 am to take the hotel shuttle to Pike Place Market.  We just planned to tour the market, see the Museum of Pop Culture, and maybe have lunch or dinner with a view somewhere.  Since we only had 2 nights, we just had to hit the tourist highlights.

We got to the market and had a breakfast of yummy pastries at the first place we came to, Le Panier.

We walked all around the market and saw everything.  I loved all the fresh flowers.

And of course there was fish!  We saw the guys that throw the fish when someone orders it.

We walked to the original Starbucks but the line was a mile long of course!

Fran and I wanted to see how tall we were compared to the tallest man in the world.

We walked out to the waterfront from the market.

The subject of where to get the best lobster roll in Seattle came up.  I consulted Google and found a place called Bar Harbor near Lake Union so I suggest we go there and then walk around Lake Union Park and watch the seaplanes.  We decided to walk over instead of taking Lyft, a decision we would come to regret because it was a really long walk!

But Harvey was happy with his lobster roll.

Ben was happy too because he got to try the #1 beer in America, something he couldn't do at home!

After lunch, we walked around Lake Union Park.

We took a Lyft back to the hotel and later that afternoon went to the Museum of Pop Culture.  It was interesting and they had some cool displays.

We had pizza at the hotel when we got back.  After dinner, Fran and Harvey went to the room but I told Ben we had to get some steps in after all that pizza.  So we Googled nearby parks and found one called Bhy Krak Park that had a view of the skyline.  It was a good walk, but nowhere near as hard as Kerry Park the day before.

We were going to have a drink at the bar when we got back but it was closed so we called it a night.  And just like that, our two nights in Seattle were over and it was on to Vancouver!
