50th Birthday Cruise - Jamaica

Today we would be arriving in Montego Bay Jamaica!  Ben and I went up to deck 11 to watch the ship come in.

We met up with Nick and Kate in the dining room to discuss our plans for the day.  Originally, we had planned to stay on the ship but after two sea days and Kate being a first-time cruiser, we decided we should at least get off the ship.  So we took the Hop on/Hop off shuttle so we could at least see something.

We were greeted at the port by this group of dancers.

The driver gave us a short narrative while driving through the city but none of my pictures from the bus came out very good. Kate took this great picture of this sign though.

Our first stop was at a shopping mall so Kate could do some souvenir shopping.

After shopping, the bus took us to Margaritaville for lunch.  Surprisingly, the drinks were pretty good here and we got a nice view of the ship and a beach.

The guys had the local beer, Red Stripe, and I had a Painkiller.

The beautiful blue water of the Caribbean.

Kate wanted to put her feet in the ocean so we took a short walk to the closest beach.  This beach was crazy crowded so we just took a quick picture or two and left.

Back on the ship, Ben and I rode a ride called the Skyride so we could see the views from up high.  I wasn't able to take pictures on the actual ride so I snapped a few while we waited in line.

Then we met Nick and Kate in the Havana for some drinks in the hot tub.

We went up to our balcony for sailaway.

Goodbye Jamaica.

That night we went to dinner at the Asian restaurant, JiJi, which was really good.  I was starving and gobbled up everything in sight!  I was dressed in white for the White Hot Party that night but we ended up being too full and tired after dinner!

Ben and I would be closing on our new house exactly one month from today and these were our fortunes!

I went to bed that night as a 49-year old for the last time.  The next morning I would wake up 50 in Grand Cayman!
