So we went back to the Sea House and I got their banana macadamia nut pancakes.
And another mimosa.
Ben thought Napili Bay looked so nice, he wanted to have a quick snorkel. So I sat on the beach and watched him. You never want to go snorkeling in the ocean without a buddy or someone watching.
Today we were going to walk the Kaanapali beach path in Kaanapali [kah-ah-nah-PAH-lee] where many of the chain resorts are located. We planned to walk around each one and have some drinks. I wanted to check them out in case we ever decided to stay in this area on a future trip.
We stopped at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel and were the first customers of the day at the Tiki Bar.
I got--what else? A lava flow.
We saw the Sheraton, Westin and Hyatt hotels.
Along the way, we saw some people taking surf lessons.
More of Kaanapali beach. This beach is 3 miles long.
We stopped at Whaler's Village and did a little shopping.
Next we drove into Lahaina and walked around Front St. We stopped at an oceanfront restaurant, Koa's, for happy hour and Ben and I split a burger.
I got another mimosa.
Even though we were stuffed, you have to get shave ice on Maui!
We walked down to the end of Front Street and saw the famous Banyan Tree.
We also saw the Old Lahaina Courthouse. I love old courthouses.
And the fort ruins.
When we got tired of walking, we drove over to Kohala Brewing Co. so the boys could try some more local beers.
Then it was back to the condo where the boys grilled steak and corn and I baked potatoes in the microwave.
Then it was on the balcony for sunset before we watched a movie.
