Thursday day 5 got here so fast—I could already start to see
our trip winding down, *sigh.* Today we
had breakfast on the lanai again.
We went back to spend the day at Airport Beach
again. Ben snorkeled but I had developed
a rash/sunburn on my chest. So I had to stay in the shade and keep out of
the water. I read a book while Ben snorkeled and we just enjoyed the
day.
We grilled the last of our hot dogs at the condo and sat out
on the lanai talking for awhile. We had
thought about doing a sunset sail but we couldn’t decide if we wanted to go or not. We decided to take the free trolley to the Kaanapali resort area.
It was super hot at that time of day though and Ben started
fading fast. We took shelter at
Leilani’s on the Beach and decided to split the fish tacos I had heard were so good. I had a lava
flow and it was the worst one I think I’ve ever had which is funny because
Leilani’s is where I had my first one on our honeymoon in 2009. Back then I thought it was the greatest thing
I’d ever tasted!
In the end, we decided to save $200 and watch the sunset
from our lawn at the condo. Ben made me
a rum and pog and we sat and watched the exact same sunset for free just the
two of us which felt like the better deal in the end.
